The Wellcome Trust 4-Year PhD Training Programme in the Molecular & Cellular Basis of Infection
Understanding and manipulating the host response to micro-organisms
APPLICATIONS FOR 2012 ARE NOW OPEN
A particular strength of Imperial College lies in the field of Infection research, in which there is a rich and diverse portfolio of expertise with internationally competitive groups working within many Divisions and Departments. It is for this reason that the College developed the Molecular & Cellular Basis of Infection as the scientific theme for this Wellcome Trust 4-year PhD Programme.
Now in its eleventh successful year, this provides an outstanding opportunity for PhD students to train in areas of basic science that have direct relevance to the development of novel approaches to the prevention and treatment of infection.
Students who are awarded a place on the programme begin their studies by undertaking a year-long MRes course. This course comprises of three different lab rotations. This enables the student to discover and experience different lab environments and different science disciplines. We have found that this prepares and helps the student for the future PhD. Please use the links above for more information about the programme.
