- 22nd May 2009: The BBSRC announces £3 Million "Longer and Larger Grant" to Imperial College Consortium lead by Professor Martin Buck, FRS, and Professor Michael Stumpf. The aim of the grant is to map the combin atorial stress resp onse in Escherichia coli and Mycobacterium tuberculosis which enable these bacteria to infect their hosts. The grant will employ 10 researchers who will work on transcriptomic, metabolomic and proteomic analysis, the generation of chimeric proteins to interfere with the signal transduction and the regulatory response to the induction of stress, and detailed mathematical and st atis tical modelling of the molecular networks and their dynamics.
