Work in the CPB

My job in the CPB is to make sure that CPB is getting the best out of its computers. This includes helping people when they have problems, mending broken computers, spotting when the computers could be doing more for CPB (and then making them do it), keeping track of our software and hardware, advising the CPB manager on IT issues, and more. I act as the point of contact for all CPB's computer questions, either providing an answer myself or if necessary passing it on to someone else, and then keeping track of it to make sure it gets done. CPB have kindly sponsored my successful efforts to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Life pre-Imperial

I graduated from the University of Warwick in June 1992 with a BSc(Hons) degree in Mathematics. I worked at the Forestry Commission writing data capture software for hand-held computers for a short time after I graduated. After that, I worked in the Computing department of the Institute of Food Research, rising to Site Computing Manager before leaving and starting work at CPB.

My interests (other than computers) include playing badminton and doing any type of puzzle.
