Mark Stein has degrees from the Universities of Warwick, Cambridge, Brunel and from the London School of Economics. He has held a variety of posts, including that of Research Fellow at the London School of Economics, Researcher and Consultant at the Tavistock Institute, and Lecturer and Programme Director at the University of Reading.
Mark's research interests lie in the fields of leadership; teams; organizational learning; service; human and organizational aspects of risk and disaster; and the psychoanalytic study of organizations.
Mark has published two edited books and numerous articles in journals such as Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies and Human Relations. His article in the October 2004 edition of Human Relations was awarded an Emerald Citation of Excellence. He was also the first recipient of the Richard Normann Prize for an article that appeared in the August 2007 edition of Organization Studies. He has received research funding from the DTI, the Marine Safety Agency and the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology.
Mark has undertaken coaching and consulting for a wide range of organizations, including Forte, Skandia Life, Walt Disney, the John Lewis Partnership, as well as a number of organizations in the public sector.
