Research Interests

  • Gravity driven deformation and related sedimentary systems in deepwater slope environments
  • Shale tectonics- member of  "Evaluating shale diapirism in petroleum exploration: in the diapric provinces of the Alboran and Caspian Seas" project funded by Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation Joint Industry Grant with REPSOL. Team lead by Prof. Juan Soto, Granada University
  • Quaternary ice-sheets extents on the continental shelf of NW Europe; subglacial tunnel valleys
  • Monitoring of carbon capture and storage by seismic techniques
  • Application of 3D seismic interpretation to the study of deformation in sedimentary basins.
  • Sand remobilization and injection (clastic intrusion)
  • The development of polygonal fault systems in mudrocks and the link with compaction and fluid  flow in sedimentary basins.
