I am interested in evolutionary epidemiology, working on questions such as:

To what extent do parasites influence the genetic and population dynamics of their hosts?

Why do parasites damage their hosts?

Why don't hosts evolve to be more resistant against infection or at least to tolerate the parasite?

Can answers to such questions help us to understand the epidemiology of infectious disease and lead to more effective and sustainable control?
