Since 1996 I have been Professor of Finance at Imperial College, University of London. I became a Visiting Professor in October 2004 when I took up a post as Managing Director in Economic Research at Morgan Stanley, in London.

My research focuses on the interaction between financial markets and the wider economy. Some of my recent work analyses the impact of ageing and the implications of different types of pension reform. To make progress on this issue requires modelling optimal consumption, saving and portfolio decisions of individuals. Some recent papers focus on that modelling issue and you can find some computer programmes here (written in GAUSS) which implement various techniques.
