Anthony Bull's research is in the area of the mechanics of muscles, bones and joints. He leads the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies (www.imperial.ac.uk/blastinjurystudies), is an active member of the osteoarthritis centre (www.imperial.ac.uk/oa), and leads the Sports Innovation Challenge (www.imperial.ac.uk/engineering/projects/sportsinnovation

Anthony's research group has subspecialisations in:
- computational biomechanics,
- experimental biomechanics,
- tissue mechanics,
- failure biomechanics,
- musculoskeletal dynamics,
- in vivo measurements and modelling, and
- biomechanics and integrative physiology'

He is currently Chair of the Engineering in Medicine and Health Division Board of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, is a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Biomedical Engineering Panel and sits on the Bioengineering Society main committee.
Anthony's departmental roles are Director of Courses and Deputy Head of Department.
