New technique could lead to the next generation of tailor-made materials

Researchers have developed a method of controlling the composition of a range of polymers, which are commonly used as plastics and fibres.

The research led by Professor Charlotte Williams and largely based on the postdoctoral research of Dr Charles Romain has developed a new technique to control the composition of a range of polymers, opening the way to the next generation of tailor-made materials.

An Imperial spin out company, Econic Technologies, founded by Professor Williams, is licensing the discovery and commercialising of these materials.
