UG3 Civil Engineering students shortlisted in TRADA's National Student Design Competition

A team of third year students from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering was amongst those shortlisted to present their designs, for a cycling super-hub using British timber in Sheffield, at the final of the TRADA National Student Design Competition. The judges commented that the design was "well thought out in terms of multi use and there was enough detail for a client to understand" and later that "the detail in the IC Velocity submission was outstanding!". The group carried out their project as part of the Group Design Projects undertaken by all students in the third year of their undergraduate degree.

Congratulations to the whole team on being shortlisted! The overall winner of the competition will be announced at the Timber Expo on 7 October 2014. Fingers crossed!
