Clean Sweep for LRF Transport Risk Management Centre

Lloyds Register Foundation Annual International Conference

The Department's LRF Transport Risk Management Centre won all 3 awards from the Lloyds Register Foundation at their Annual International Conference.

The awards were presented at the Lloyds Register Foundation hosted dinner during its recent International Conference on Bringing Safety to Life at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Pictured from left to right are Dr Arnab Majumdar, Senior Lecturer in Transport, who was awarded the Grantholder of the Year award for the best research centre, PhD student Elena Psyllou (supervised by Dr Arnab Majumdar and Professor Washington Ochieng) who won the Best Poster competition for her research on airspace safety, and PhD student Stavros Sidiropoulous (supervised by Dr Arnab Majumdar, Professor Washington Ochieng and Dr Ke Han) who received the award for the best student with a 3 Minute Thesis presentation for his research on optimising New York’s airspace.

The LRF Transport Risk Management Centre was originally set up by Emeritus Professor Andrew Evans and is now directed by Dr Majumdar.
