Professor Serafim Kalliadasis

Chemical Engineering Professor elected Fellow of the American Physical Society

Congratulations to Serafim Kalliadasis, who has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS).   Now a Professor of Engineering Science and Applied Mathematics at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Kalliadasis has enjoyed a long and distinguished career including stints at Notre Dame, Leeds, Stanford and Université Pierre-et-Marie-Curie, Paris.

“Election to APS Fellowship is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the total APS membership," said Professor Kalliadasis. "I’m very pleased, proud and happy to finally join the few and select who receive this honour.”

APS fellows are honoured not only by recognition by their professional peers, but by the contribution to the field of physics via outstanding research, application and education of the subject.   Kalliadasis, who joined Imperial College in 2004, is honoured specifically for his contributions to fluid dynamics, the study of fluids and how forces affect them.  You can read more about his work on the Complex Multiphase Systems group website.
