The Association of Imperial College Alumni Pakistan held its AGM and dinner on 2 April 2008 at the Islamabad Club, Islamabad
The Annual General Body Meeting of the Association of Imperial College Alumni of Pakistan 
(AICA) was held on the evening of Wednesday 2 April 2008 at the Banquet Hall of the Islamabad Club, Islamabad. It was chaired by alumnus Hilal Raza (MSc Earth Science and Engineering 1970), President of the Association, and attended by 27 alumni and their family members.
Meeting began with recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr Chaudhry Nasib (MSc Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology 1971, PhD 1973), Finance Secretary. He read out the annual report of the Association covering activities and finances. General Secretary Dr Shahid Hussain (MSc Earth Science and Engineering 1988) could not attend due to sudden illness of his father in Lahore; members prayed for the early recovery of Shahid’s father.
Certificates were distributed to all life members of AICA in good standing; other alumni were requested to fill in the membership forms to become life members.
Dr Nasib gave an interesting presentation on the subject of “A Scientific Overview of the Universe” that traced the development of thoughts as well as facts on the subject. The talk was highly appreciated and was followed by a lively discussion participated by members and their families.
Elections
As per tradition, the President announced resignation of all sitting members of the Executive Committee and called for nominations for various positions for the year 2008-09. To begin with, he proposed the name of Anjum Ahmad (MSc Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology 1982) for the position of the President. However, the General Body did not accept the proposal and with a strong unanimous applause asked Hilal Raza to continue as the President.
After some discussion, the following alumni were elected with consensus for the positions mentioned:

Ali Kausar Zaidi and Imtiaz Qazalbash accepted the request of the AGM to continue as the Patrons.
The AGM was followed by a networking dinner that was much enjoyed by the alumni and their families. A group photo taken on the occasion is below; President Hilal Raza is standing 7th from left.
