The Russell Group are creating a A-Level Content Advisory Board to advise Ofqual on the future content of A-levels.

The Secretary of State for Education has approved a proposal by the Russell Group to establish an A-level Content Advisory Board (ALCAB). The ALCAB will seek to advise and inform Ofqual of the views of Russell Group institutions, and others within the Higher Education Sector, on the content of A-levels. The guidance from this group will focus, in particular, on the subjects categorised by the Russell Group as facilitating for entry to leading universities, these are Maths, Further Maths, English Literature, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, History and Modern and Classical Languages.

It is anticipated that ALCAB will contribute to both the revision and accreditation of new A-levels and the annual post-exam review process carried out by Ofqual.

Imperial will seek to ensure that its views are represented at this board.

Further information on this group is available on the Department for Education's website.
