About the Faculty

The Faculty is led by the Principal, Professor Maggie Dallman and employs approximately 1,200 staff, teaches 3,000 undergraduates and 1,400 postgraduate students, and has a research income totalling £66.5 million (2010-11 figures).

RAE Results

The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise confirmed the Faculty of Natural Sciences to be the second strongest in the UK, based on the proportion of world-leading (4*) and internationally excellent (3*) research activity over all of our research areas. Full details
