Research: Dynamics

Dynamics Group

The Dynamics Group is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London.

Research in the Dynamics Section is concerned with a wide range of vibration and shock-related phenomena in structures. The various areas of activity are focused in two main groups: Modal Testing and Rotating Machinery Dynamics.

Much of the sponsored research in these groups is conducted in the Centre of Vibration Engineering. In addition to these generic areas of research, the Group also has a specialised interest in turbomachinery. This has led to the creation by Rolls-Royce of their Vibration University Technology Centre (VUTC).
