Postgraduate Courses
Within the Graduate School for Life Sciences and Medicine we offer higher degrees by research in many areas of the biological sciences. These usually lead to the PhD degree of the University of London and the Diploma of the Imperial College (DIC). Some students may undertake a 'split' PhD programme, which enables them to follow a large part of their research under the aegis of an approved institute abroad.
We offer a wide range of 12-month, full-time Master's courses, leading to the MSc or MRes degree of the University of London and to the Diploma of the Imperial College (DIC). We also offer a suite of distance learning MSc and postgraduate diploma courses in areas of agricultural and environmental management, and rural development.
Masters Courses:
Graduates with at least a lower second class Honours degree or equivalent are admitted in October each year for Master's courses in a range of specialist fields (note: some courses have higher entrance requirements - see each course description page for details).
The Department of Life Sciences will offer bursaries to selected successful UK/EU applicants to partially offset the cost of tuition fees for Masters courses. For more information please contact Anthony Fitzgerald.
