Support for rising research stars
Imperial’s Junior Research Fellowships sustain the brightest and best early career researchers from across the world, by providing a level of commitment and support that is rare from a UK university.
The scheme is now closed for 2012 start dates.

Imperial Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) receive three-year fellowships, which include a competitive salary, research expenses and mentoring support from a senior Imperial academic. This support gives JRFs the freedom to focus on their research, with no obligatory teaching or administration.
Imperial’s JRF scheme was set up in 2008 with the aim of helping researchers make the leap from post-doc to lecturer. Imperial is continuing its investment in this scheme and will appoint up to 20 new JRFs to start in the academic year 2012/13. So far, three cohorts have been recurited to this scheme, the first Imperial JRFs are about to begin their final year.
Fourth cohort of Imperial JRFs due to be offered awards: April 2012
