Obtaining usernames and passwords
All members of College are required to accept the Conditions of Use of IT Facilities
Students accept the College Conditions of Use of IT Facilities as part of the College registration process, and are allocated a username and password at this time. Usernames and password for undergraduates are provided during the first week of their course via Departments.
New employees and honorary staff accept the College Conditions of Use of IT Facilities when they sign their contracts and usernames and passwords are set up ready for use when they arrive at College.
Academic visitors, such as those visiting College from another educational institution, will usually be granted access to the College computing system subject to the College's discretion. To check which process to use (ICIS or our web-based username request form) please read our FAQ on this subject.
Contractors and temporary administrative staff would ordinarily have a username requested for them via ICIS. More information on usernames for contractors and temps is available at this ICT web page.
Guests, that is those who visit the College for a short time, and need limited access to IT facilities should use the Guest Access service.
Central Business Systems users, that is those who need to access central College Business Systems such as the College Finance, HR and Student registration systems, will need additional permissions to access 'ICIS'. Click here for more information about accessing the ICIS service.
