Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine

Graduate Programme

The Graduate Programme consists of one year of Masters level study and three years of PhD study. Admission to study for the PhD degree normally requires that students have performed well in an appropriate Masters course first, but exceptions may be made for students who have done a great deal of history of science, technology or medicine as part of a first degree. Many PhD students have taken the Masters Programme offered through the London Centre for the History of Science, Medicine and Technology, while others come to Imperial from programmes around the UK and many other countries. Applicants to the Graduate Programme can also apply for a Hans Rausing Scholarship.

Post Graduate Open Day

You can find out more about the department's MSc and PhD programmes and talk to staff involved at the Imperial College Postgraduate open day.

The next College Postgraduate Open Day will take place on Wednesday 7th December 2011.  Each Department/Division will have a stall staffed with at least two members of staff who will be able to advise on the research opportunities and taught masters programmes available at Imperial. There will also be opportunities to obtain advice on the application process, accommodation, fees and funding as well as tours of the campus throughout the afternoon.  For further information please contact graduate.schools@imperial.ac.uk.
