Imperial College London Wins Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers at the Times Higher Awards 2006

The Graduate Schools won the Times Higher Awards 2006 in the category of Outstanding Support for Early Careers Researchers on 15 November 2006.  More than 90 of the UK's universities took part in the awards and the judges felt that "Imperial College has taken an innovative and integrated approach to supporting early-careers researchers."  This award, sponsored by RCUK in association with UKGRAD, is for the individual, team or institution that has developed the most innovative scheme to enhance and develop the transferable and careers skills of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.

Julia Goodfellow, chief executive of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council said: "Imperial has moved from being a traditional graduate school to one in which the focus is on transferable skills and career development."
