Car parking - information - (South Kensington)

Notice to authorised booking personnel:

Staff members should not be booked in as visitors unless absolutely necessary, (e.g. travelling between campuses, bringing in heavy equipment). This is to allow emergency engineers etc to attend Imperial College London to do essential works.

Visitors can park at South Kensington campus free of charge by being booked in via the Faculty/Department, during the weekdays 07:00-18:00.

Booking must be completed via the online car park booking form by 16:00hrs the previous working day.

What happens if I need to bring my car in before 07.00 as I work early, and/or I need to work later than 18.00 hours? 
As previously, permit holders will not be subject to additional charge. When applying for a permit, please indicate your normal working hours on the application form.
If you only occasionally need to park outside core hours please advise the Car Parking Office in advance of your requirement.

Where do I get a car park application form from?

I am a student - can I park my car at South Kensington campus? Not unless you have a recognised disability. This is due to extremely limited space.  You may however register and park a bicycle without charge and we have secure bike parking facilities.
 
I am a contractor - how do I get permission for my vehicles to park?
Through the person employing you, normally a College Project Manager or Building Manager or via the Car Parking Office.

What happens if I need to bring my car in to work early, or I need to work late? 
When applying for a permit you should indicate your normal working hours on the application form.  If the need for you to park is occasional, please advise the Car Parking Office, so that they can register your car registration number(s) and working hours.

What happens if I need to use my car for work purposes outside of core hours (07:00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday)?

I need to transport heavy/bulky/awkward items for work purposes - can I use my car?
Please advise the Car Parking Office in advance, detailing your requirements and we will do our best to help.  Your vehicle may be checked on entry/exit.
 
I'd like to car share - how can I make contact with others who might wish to share? 
Please provide the details of your journey (location and approximate time of commencement, number of passenger spaces available) on the car parking application form.
 
I deliver regularly to the campus and need longer than 30 minutes to make my deliveries - do I have to pay?
Please advise the Car Parking Office of your requirements and details of your vehicle(s).

I temporarily need a car parking space due to ill health/accident/maternity/other - how can I get one?
Please provide the Car Parking Office with a report from Occupational Health which substantiates the requirement for a car parking space and we will do our best.  Please bear in mind all spaces are likely to allocated, so it may take a while to assist.

I’m going to a Royal Albert Hall event – can I park in South Kensington campus car park?
You can make a booking for car parking in advance from the Royal Albert Hall’s website.
If it is too late to make an on-line booking you should contact the College’s Car Park Office directly, telephone 020 7594 8915.

I’m visiting nearby museums – can I park in South Kensington campus car park?
We do have car parking spaces available after 18:00 hours and at weekends: telephone 020 7594 8915 or email: car.park@imperial.ac.uk, giving as much notice as possible.

Can I park a minibus/coach/camper van/lorry at South Kensington Campus?
Sorry, no, we do not have the facility to accommodate large vehicles such as these.
