What is a Virtual Conference?

Our virtual conference took place on the Elucian Islands, which is the home of Nature Publishing Group, in the virtual world of Second Life.  This allowed researchers worldwide to come together to present and discuss their research without leaving the lab.

 second life

It was standing-room only in Second Life during Sir Brian's talk.

Who Attends a Virtual Conference?

  • Individual attendees included researchers from 11 universities and 3 research laboratories across the US and Europe, plus many others!
  • Anyone who wants to quit worrying about their carbon footprint and start minimizing it!

Virtual Poster Session
