Welcome to Communication and Signal Processing Group
The revolution in communications and digital media in the recent decades is based on the achievements of electrical and electronic engineers, who managed to solve major problems in signal transmission, propagation and processing. The Communications and Signal Processing Group of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Imperial College London consists of about 10 academics, about 10 post-doctoral researchers and about 50 PhD students, all working on various aspects of communication theory, signal and image processing, and computer vision. From basic methodology to practical applications in healthcare, wellbeing, remote sensing and the environment, the Group is at the forefront of research in these subjects. The Group hosts the University Defence Research Centre (UDRC) in signal processing, sponsored by the UK Ministry of Defence. It also hosts the Smart Environment Lab (SEL) which is a Faculty facility that offers excellent state of the art facilities for data capture and processing, from a variety of sensors. The Group runs a very successful MSc course in Communications and Signal Processing.
