Bringing together scientists from a wide range of different fields to develop innovative interdisciplinary approaches to understanding biological problems.
The Centre for Integrative Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (CISBIO) was launched in June 2011 as a result of the merger of the Centre for Integrative Systems Biology at Imperial College (CISBIC) and the Centre for Bioinformatics (CfB).
CISBIO brings together scientists from a wide range of different fields to develop innovative interdisciplinary approaches to understanding biological problems. A key component of the interdisciplinary strategy is a repeated cycle of experimentation and modelling. The Centre provides core facilities to enhance this interdisciplinary approach including housing the Bioinformatics Support Service.
CISBIO operates on a hub and spoke model with its hub on the 3rd Floor of the Wolfson Buliding, Department of Life Sciences, South Kensington Campus.
CISBIO is part of the Institute of Systems and Synthetic Biology (IoSSB) which acts as the overarching strategic body for all Systems and Synthetic Biology activities at Imperial College.
