Undergraduate: Introduction

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology of Imperial College London is one of the oldest chemical engineering departments in the country and, in 2000, it celebrated the 60th anniversary of the graduation of its first chemical engineering students.

Today, we offer an integrated four-year programme leading to the award of an MEng degree in chemical engineering, one of the first in the country to be recognised as fulfilling the most recent Engineering Council MEng requirements. One stream of this course involves a year spent abroad studying at a university in Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore or the United States. We also offer a stream, run jointly with the Chemistry Department, entitled Chemical Engineering with Fine Chemicals Processing.
