Imperial Executive MBA

The Imperial Executive MBA is a two-year part-time programme designed for people who are already in a demanding job and want to transform their business effectiveness and careers.

It bridges the gap between theory and practice and allows you to gain core business knowledge and skills while having the flexibility to follow your individual interests. You immediately apply your new knowledge and skills in the work place, fast-tracking the learning process.

It gives you the freedom to explore your own interests through four electives and your individual project, while taking eight core courses and our Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design course, as well as an International Study Tour.

The Business School is consistently ranked in the top 10 worldwide for entrepreneurship, and is widely recognised for its research and teaching of innovation.

The programme is available in two separate modes to suit individual needs and preferences: part-time weekend and part-time weekdays.

The part-time weekend mode suits people who enjoy more independent study, with an emphasis on virtual learning complemented by four intense days a month (Thursday to Sunday) in college. Students can fit the schedule into their holiday entitlement, and can also fly in monthly from abroad.

The part-time weekday mode suits students who can take more time off from work and who enjoy learning with other people. This mode is taught in college every other Friday plus 8 three weekday blocks during the first year.

Daryl Mcarthur, weekday EMBA 2007

“I was in risk management so I looked around for an MBA that offered something beyond finance – I didn’t want to cover old ground. The entrepreneurial dimension to the EMBA at Imperial exceeded my expectations. And I’ve met plenty of people who weren’t in banking – people from the immigration service, the health service and people from small companies who have achieved incredible things. These people are contributing to the country in a completely different way. Getting them together releases a lot of creativity. It’s a buzz. I moved to London from South Africa six years ago. The EMBA is the best thing I’ve done since I came here.”
