Overview

NAS equipment

NAS consists of two parts: Neuroprosthetic device research and Analytical Sensor development. The first part is currently concerned with sense-and-stimulate peripheral nerve interfaces. Research includes advanced cuff electrode design and testing for fascicle-selective recording and stimulation as well as integration of implantable ASIC bioamplifiers and stimulators developed in-house. Advanced modes of neural interfacing include implementation of ISFET technology in ion-selective neural measurements and directionally-selective stimulation of specific nerve branches, based on their specific biological properties. The lab includes facilities for low-frequency, low-noise bio-signal transient and spectral monitoring and data acquisition, as well as programmable waveform generators for ultra-low distortion bioelectric waveform generation and in-vitro apparatus.
